Holiday Red & Glow | My Festive Picks to Shine this Season

and a video for those that got the christmas blues…

It’s that time of year were social engagements and festive obligations are at an all time high. It’s also the one time of year you can get a way with looking like a disco ball with out needing the dance floor. I sifted through my stash and brought out 7 reds, and 7 glows that are all fantastic options for any of your holiday makeup needs…

The Lips

I love a good red lip… as you can tell! Stila’s Stay All Day in Beso is an excellent option if you need something to go the distance. Nar’s Jungle Red and Mac’s Russian Red’s are both beautiful matte’s that have such a classic vibe. Jungle Red a little bit on the orange side with Russian Red being a deep deep option. Both Bourjois Grand Cru, Rimmel’s One of a Kind and Sephora’s Belly Dancing are creamy options that lean toward the berry side of things. And the most festive of them all is Mac’s Cockney. It’s their Lustre formula, complete with a subtle shimmer.

The Glow

I love me a good glow all season long, but this is the time of year I can go full glitter and not look like I either just left a rave or a 12 year olds birthday party. Heimish Artless Glow Base is a great place to start. It makes the skin dewy and has a touch of glow that can be easily beefed up with a few drop of Josie Marans Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer. For a subtle eye look Nar’s Himalia has a work appropriate amount of shimmer, but for the days you want all the shine on the eyes both Urban Decays Heavy Metal Eyeliner in Midnight Cowboy and Revlon’s Eye Art in Topaz Twinkle are stellar options.

There are tone of awesome metallic options out there for this time of year, I think Revlon makes some of my favorite glitter top coats though, I love the stary night feel that Golden Confetti gives. And last, but certainly not least is Bite Beauty’s Creme Lip Gloss in Gold, it makes a great light top gloss on any red lip, but I can’t wait for new years, I plane to wear this baby on its own, and completely opaque!

The Blues
