Indie Alert: Organic Sheet Masks by Orgaid

If you’ve been following along with some of my previous posts on here or even my Instagrams, you might have noticed me mention (briefly) that I was doing the #30daysheetmaskchallenge. You haven’t heard TOO much about it from me because, well… It didn’t work out.

In hindsight I should have known that trying out dozens of different products for a month straight would go terribly wrong. I think my skin just couldn’t handle the variety I was putting it through. Needless to say- I didn’t make it to 30 full days, probably just over 2 weeks. It wasn’t a completely waste though: I still got to test out some really interesting masks, discover new brands and have dozens stock piled for later occasions and posts. One brand I found pretty interesting is US based Organic sheet mask company Orgaid.

Orgaid has three different masks, and I tested out one of each. I found them all to be pretty good, solid sheet masks, that all did a nice job of hydrating my skin. Like I mentioned, Orgaid is a US based company that claims to be the only brand that actually manufactures their sheet masks here in the U.S.A. I personally love that. I love my skin care from all over, but I hold a special place in my heart for US based and US made!

The range includes 3 masks: Greek Yogurt/Nourishing, Anti-Aging/Moisturizing, & Vitamin C/Revitalizing.

They all contain some USDA Certified Organic materials. Are all Parben, Alcohol, Sulfate and Fragrance Free! (Yay!). Each mask uses ‘Ecoderma‘ Fabric, a new type of fabric that supposedly adheres to the face better and allows serums to absorb better into the skin.

Each mask is supposed to help with a targeted skin issue, containing relevant ingredients for each concern. Greek Yogurt/Nourishing contains Greek Yogurt, Pro-Vitamin B5, Aloe Vera and Chamomile to nourish and tighten skin. Anti-Aging/Moisturizing has antioxidant rich Horsetail and Green Tea along with Niacinamide, and Aloe Vera to help with the signs of aging. And lastly Vitamin C/Revitalizing has a hardy amount of Vitamin C’s and A’s from Arginine, Orange Peel, Rosehip and Pomegranate extracts to help brighten the complexion.

Each mask has a large amount of both Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid. Making all three, great at giving the skin a jolt of hydration.orgaid-organic-sheet-mask-vitamin-c-revitalizingorgaid-organic-sheet-mask-vitamin-c-revitalizing-ecoderma-fabric

I found the Ecoderma fabric to fit pretty comfortably on the skin, with little fidgeting needed. Each pouched contained a decent amount of serum at the bottom for me to spread over my neck and décolletage while I let the mask sink into my skin.

It’s recommend to leave on for 20-30 minutes, and I found it still decently moist past the 30 minute mark. I tired them both day and night, and found using in the morning a tad too sticky to layer under makeup without rinsing my face off first. I did find the masks an excellent pre bed addition to my nightly routine, a sat nicely under my night cream.

I didn’t find a huge difference between the three variety, with a tad more brightening effect with the Vitamin C one though. I do find that with a lot of sheet masks though- that the differences are subtle, and the options of different masks are great for those with sensitivity to certain ingredients rather than really being greatly dissimilar.

Orgaid is pooping up onto more and more retailers lately. I think I came across them first via scrolling through Free People’s newly expanded beauty section (highly recommend- they carry Pai!). In the world of sheet masks they are on the pricey side – fitting in more with some of the luxury brands like Farmacy and Karuna you see at Sephora. But honestly for a US made, and Organic product the price seems pretty fair!

You can find Orgaid via their website, Amazon or Free People.
