Trilogy Skincare: Organic Rosehip Oil, Cream Cleanser and Hydrating Toner

Well if it’s good enough for the future queen, then it should be good enough for me right?

When a super model, a princess and my favorite burlesque dancer all seem to dig the same oil, the annoying skincare obsessive inside me has to know what the fuss is about. I’ve tested out some products from the New Zealand Skincare brand Trilogy over the last few months and have been loving this Rosehip based line.

Trilogy was founded by two sisters, Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot, nearly fifteen years ago. This natural, organic, and eco friendly line, based around the powerhouse that is Rosehip Oil, has some of the most awarded oils on the market.

Trilogy Cream Cleanser Hydrating Mist Toner

Rosehip is definitely having a bit of a heyday right now. I think it swooped in some time last year and stole the crown off of Argan Oil’s head.

It’s packed with anti-oxidants, Omegas (6, 7, & 9) and loaded with Vitamin A; a powerhouse all on its own. Vitamin A is known to increase collagen, help fight acne, and fortify the skin. All great things, especially for those concerned with free radicals and anti-aging!

Trilogy Cream Cleanser

Trilogy’s Cream Cleanser is a lovely, gentle blend of Rosehip and antioxidant rich Carrot and Evening Primrose Oils. It contains some lovely healers: Jojoba, Chamomile and Aloe Vera, all great at calming irritated skin and helping along the recovery process.

Bitter Orange and Rosemary are both great at combating bacteria, and cleansing the skin; adding an anti acne benefit. All around the mix on this guy should be good for all skin types, especially dehydrated. They do offer a sensitive version as well. (TrilogyAmazon, Feel Unique)

I adored using this cleanser all year round, but found it particularly shined during winter months or in dryer climates. It is best applied to dry skin, but I did find it effective used wet as well. If you like Pai’s Camellia and Rose Hydrating Cleanser I think this is a great similar alternative to try. Plus the scent is outstanding.

It’s a good all around cleanser, and does a decent job removing makeup. I think with this sort of ingredient list you’ll get the best bang for your buck using it as a morning or second cleanse. I mostly use this as my morning cleanse, with all it’s vitamins and antioxidants, it helps prep my skin to fight the free radicals of the day. (Trilogy, Amazon, Feel Unique)

Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner

I don’t understand how such a simple misting toner can smell so intoxicating.

Trilogy’s Hydrating Mist Toner is a bouquet of Lavender, Geranium and Rose. This blend of essential oils helps heal, calm and hydrate the skin. Lavender in particular is a great antiseptic, making it perfect in a toner.

After I cleanse or have applied an acid toner, I spritz this guy all over my face and chest. It gives a quick boost of hydration after my skin has been cleansed and preps any oil, serum or essence applied after to absorb even better.

I am nearly out of this guy right now, with less then a weeks worth left. I need to get through a few toners and mists I am set to review next, but I definitely can’t wait to come back to this uniquely exotic spray. (Trilogy, Amazon, Feel Unique)

Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil

I’ve had a lot of people ask me skincare questions lately, especially when it comes to anti aging or just an all around good product to incorporate into their routine. One thing I always point them to is Rosehip Oil (and also this awesome moisturizer from ShiKai). Trilogy’s Organic Rosehip Oil is the best I have come across so far.

It absorbs faster then any other Rosehip oil variety I have sampled and leaves my skin hydrated for hours. You can get away with only a few drops, and if you find it’s feeling greasy you’ve probably used to much.

It’s a perfect oil for someone in a big city or who spends a lot of time in the sun. The antioxidant rich oil is essential for anyone dealing with free radicals and/or pollutants.

I’ve found a big difference using this oil both night and day, resulting in a smoother complexion. It has aided in the healing of any spots I’ve been suffering with, and helps to lighten any lingering hyper-pigmentation. This summer I‘ve loved layering this oil under a light moisturizer like Tidal by Sunday Riley or a new one by Peora. (Trilogy, Amazon, Feel Unique)

Trilogy products are some of the best I’ve come across this year and I can’t wait to test out more from this line! Have you tried anything out from Trilogy you loved or hated?
